5 Tips for Golf Tournament Planning
• Begin advertising at least 3 months in advance. This gives players plenty of time to plan for the tournament as many times you need to find a partner or a team to play. Make sure that your advertising is very specific and includes the prizes that can be won and the format that will be played.
• On the day of tournament make sure that you have plenty of people to help you check the players in and get them in their carts. If at all possible have it set up where they pull up and you take their bags to their cart while they park.
• Make sure that you have plenty of people on hand that know the rules and can be on the course to answer rules questions that come up. This person can serve two purposes, one to answer questions and two to keep an eye on the pace of play.
• Have a plan if the weather is uncooperative.
• Have enough people in place to be able to get the results posted quickly. After a long day on the course golfers will be anxious to know how they finished.
